UPDATE – January 11th

We know that some tax filers affected by the IRS error have not yet received their stimulus payment. We want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to get you your stimulus payment as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, for some tax filers stimulus payments are still at the IRS.  Without the IRS releasing these funds to us, we do not have a way to get your payment to you. The IRS will need to re-issue your stimulus payment.

According to the IRS, stimulus payments are expected to be deposited into bank accounts by the end of January. You can read the full IRS statement here

If you are a TurboTax customer in this group, you should have received an email from us notifying you of the situation. We will continue to reach out with new information.

We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and we continue to advocate on your behalf with the IRS.

UPDATE – January 8th

We are happy to share that stimulus payments will begin to be deposited on January 8th for millions of our customers affected by the IRS error.  We expect most of these payments to be available that day, but banks could take a few business days to process. Payment will be deposited into the same bank account that customers received their 2019 tax refund.

Customers receiving a stimulus payment will receive an email from TurboTax informing them of the deposit.

We have been working tirelessly with the Treasury and IRS to get stimulus payments to our customers.  We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and we regret that an IRS error caused a delay.

We appreciate your patience as these payments are processed.  This update may not immediately be reflected in the IRS Get My Payment tool.

The IRS recently began issuing a second round of stimulus payments to those eligible. Unfortunately, because of an IRS error, millions of payments were sent to the wrong accounts and some may not have received their stimulus payment.

We have been working tirelessly on a solution with the Treasury and the IRS. As a result, our expectation now is that within days the error will be corrected and stimulus payments will begin being deposited into the correct bank accounts. We have also re-confirmed with the IRS that they have all of the correct banking information for our customers.

We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and that everyone is anxious to get their money, now more than ever.

We will keep you updated on our efforts, and we will stay on this until you get your money.

  1. We’re the irs says you have to claim it or your taxes will that be fixed in there website or will we not get a refund until taxes our done

  2. Me nor my husband has received ours. Irs said it went to turbo card which I have never had. I hope this is fixed soon.

  3. This is so frustrating. I’m glad Turbo Tax is updating people, since the IRS is NOT. How can the government be so careless with billions of dollars??? Never mind. That was rhetorical. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

  4. Hurry up! I have 4 children and I’m a single mom and we are depending on this money. Not to mention I’m sick with Covid. Come on! This is ridiculous!

  5. I have been using your service for the past six years, but will be switching to a different tax preparation company this year. There was no issue receiving the first stimulus payment. Now all of a sudden those who had your preparation fees deducted from their return cannot receive it because of the intermediary bank you use? Somethings seems very off with this issue. I will be informing family, friends, and colleagues to steer very clear of Turbo Tax when choosing a tax preparation service; perhaps a company that cares for its customers such as H&R Block, who is managing to get their clients their stimulus.

  6. I called irs fiscal department and they said my payment was sent out on the fourth to civista bank? I have my tt card account number and routing number on file on 21b of my taxes will I still be issued my stimulus?

  7. Yeah, I got my taxes from last year and my last stimulus check no problem so why now does it say status not available? Was it sent to this turbo tax account? I seriously need to wait months for my 2020 taxes to get that money? Nah.

  8. How do we know if we were affected by the irs sending payments to TurboTax my get my payment says stays not available but I filed with turbo tax

  9. What if it says In my account transcript with the irs my money was deposited on 01/04/2021 but the get my payment tool has no information and say payment status not available , I think it absolutely crazy this didn’t happen on our first stimulus but now we have this issue when we really need this money and they say if we don’t get it we have to claim it in our taxes which is not fair they need to retract that statement , this was a IRS error now we have to suffer .

  10. What if it says that they need more information or that there is the possibility that you won’t get it… like what the heck o for the first one and I know that I still qualify for this one…. I need it ASAP

  11. All what we as the American people are going threw and suffering like the Great Depression why do us like this!!! Praying Hard for Americans…

  12. We need to hear from the IRS that the error is being corrected ASAP and that we won’t have to wait to claim it on our tax return!!! That is the only thing I want to hear out of them.

  13. So my information is correct but I did use u all to do my taxes so haven’t I gotten my stimulus yet and will will I get it or not just a yes or no will do me just fine

  14. So is this being fixed? Or do we have to wait until we file our taxes? The IRS is saying we will have to wait until we file, but now Turbo Tax is blaming the IRS and saying they are working to fix it. I guess this is what I get for choosing to pay for Turbo Tax’s services last year.

  15. How can they have the wrong bankIf you have the same bank as last year and the year before that? I been at my bank for over 15 years.

  16. This is totally irresponsible! If payments were deposited on December 30th TurboTax should’ve been saw this error and began to rectify the problem, not wait until millions of Americans became outraged and upset! This could have been fixed immediately. If you cared about your customers you would’ve placed the direct deposits into our accounts as fast as H&R Block did! They made sure their customers received payments all of this week! I will never use TurboTax again after being a customer for nearly 10 years!

  17. I would like to know how this happened when the first check was deposited into my account with no problem. How would they have the wrong account this time. Makes no damn sense. As a turbo tax customer, the company should have put out an email to their customers letting them know what happened. I had to wait an hour and half in hold at the IRS to find this out. Completely unethical and unprofessional shame on you Turbo Tax

  18. What if I filed through TurboTax and my status on the payment thru irs website says (status not available)? I don’t know if the payment was sent to TurboTax or if there is a problem with the irs system?

  19. That information is very conflicting! The IRS’s statement says that they asking people to file the credit with their taxes due to the fact they don’t have time to send it out again. So which is it?

  20. Exactly. What about the “No Information Available” The IRS posted that those receiving that message won’t get a second stimulus and will have to wait until taxes are filed! We have bills to pay!!!!! This is completely unacceptable!!

  21. You closed my account 2 weeks before the second stimulus was sent. But kept my account open from 2016-2017? I don’t get it.

  22. Either we get the money or we take the money enough is enough. If burning down buildings is what it’s takes then so be it. Somebody will pay for it

  23. That’s a lie IRS website states they will not issue checks if it states payment #2. You will have to claim it on your taxes!!!!!! So try again TurboTax!!!!!

  24. What if it’s deposited into the wrong account and I was set up for a paper check because I never gave a account number

  25. What if I moved and don’t have the same bank account or address since I received my first stimulus payment?

  26. What is it still says not available but i got the first payment perfectly fine. This is a life or death situation and i need that check.

  27. What if I still haven’t gotten this second stimulus nor my tax refund? When I call IRS, they don’t know why it’s taking so long..

  28. I wonder if the IRS will update their conflicting info that says all of us impacted By this error have to claim it on our taxes. I wish we could hear this from the horses mouth.

  29. This is a blanketed statement sent to everyone. Doesn’t help me any. My funds were released to y’all 1/4 and now there lost and the IRS has no answered either.
Somehow other tax experts have been able to get funds to their loyal customers, while you continue to give the same blanketed statement over and over.
