We want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to get you your stimulus payment as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, for some tax filers stimulus payments are still at the IRS. Without the IRS releasing these funds to us, we do not have a way to get your payment to you. The IRS will need to re-issue your stimulus payment. According to the IRS, stimulus payments are expected to be deposited into bank accounts by the end of January. You can read the full IRS statement here. If you are a TurboTax customer in this group, you should have received an email from us notifying you of the situation. We will continue to reach out with new information. We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and we continue to advocate on your behalf with the IRS. UPDATE – January 8th We are happy to share that stimulus payments will begin to be deposited on January 8th for millions of our customers affected by the IRS error. We expect most of these payments to be available that day, but banks could take a few business days to process. Payment will be deposited into the same bank account that customers received their 2019 tax refund. Customers receiving a stimulus payment will receive an email from TurboTax informing them of the deposit. We have been working tirelessly with the Treasury and IRS to get stimulus payments to our customers. We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and we regret that an IRS error caused a delay. We appreciate your patience as these payments are processed. This update may not immediately be reflected in the IRS Get My Payment tool. For more information visit our FAQ here. The IRS recently began issuing a second round of stimulus payments to those eligible. Unfortunately, because of an IRS error, millions of payments were sent to the wrong accounts and some may not have received their stimulus payment. We have been working tirelessly on a solution with the Treasury and the IRS. As a result, our expectation now is that within days the error will be corrected and stimulus payments will begin being deposited into the correct bank accounts. We have also re-confirmed with the IRS that they have all of the correct banking information for our customers. We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and that everyone is anxious to get their money, now more than ever. Reply Hi Tamisha, If you didn’t receive a stimulus payment for the 2nd stimulus check but were otherwise eligible then you may be able to can the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return for that amount. I have been using Turbo Tax for years and although I don’t receive a refund from the IRS, I e-file my return and they take out my payment from my checking account. They have the bank info. I got got my first one fine and I’ve been with Turbo for several years.. Reply They are actually truly depositing these funds now into whatever account you received your refunds in. I received mine into my account today (it wasn’t in there this morning but it showed up this afternoon. STPG website shows they are attempting to have everyone’s mo eh processed now and they started yesterday. They expect everyone who had accounts on file with the irs to start seeing them as early as today but by Monday the 11th is what their website shows. My it’s status kept saying Payment 2 not available or not enough info even though I know I was qualified to receive it and had not trouble receiving the first one. TPG is the bank that processes TurboTax fees when you do your refund through TurboTax, and the IRS basically just made a HUGE error by sending these payments to them. This happened to some accounts with that first stimulus but the IRS required them to send the misdirected payments back to the irs so they could reissue them, but this time it is nearing tax season and the irs advised they do not have time to reissue those payments so they advised TPG to go ahead and direct deposit them to the accounts that are in file with the irs. TurboTax and TPG are awesome for fixing this issue for everyone that the irs caused. Reply Yes, my family and I can definitely use the stimulus money. But my goodness! If TurboTax doesn’t get this fixed and I am forced to wait until I file my tax returns I will never use this software again and will recommend everyone that I help with on their taxes to use a company that try’s to proactively assist their customers. Hi Tamisha, If you didn’t receive a stimulus payment for the 2nd stimulus check but were otherwise eligible then you may be able to can the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return for that amount. I know turbo tax is really trying to get out payments to us. All of this was caused by rushing payments to 160 million people. I received my payment Monday morning and would like to personally thank turbo tax for helping that happen. I know this sucks but y’all will get the payments. Peace!! Reply
I have not received a payment yet. My question is: Why are they sending mine through U.S. Mail? I have been using Turbo Tax for years and although I don’t receive a refund from the IRS, I e-file my return and they take out my payment from my checking account. They have the bank info. Plus I get SS from the IRS deposited every month. Reply
They send you a check if you owed taxes. Only deposit if you got refunds.. I have the same situation. Reply

I am seeing the same issue as most…I received the email from TurboTax that the error has been addressed and my direct deposit should be in my account on the 8th (which its not), I understand some banks can take more time however on the IRS site its showing the Payment #2 – Status Not Available and per the IRS I will have to claim it on my taxes however Turbo Tax is saying I will get the deposit. My credit union released a statement saying as of yesterday all stimulus pmts that are being sent through direct deposit have already done so and if you haven’t received it by now you will most likely get your stimulus through the mail. I’m confused now with turbo tax saying we should start seeing direct deposit as of today. At this point I really don’t think I’m going to get a stimulus check. I guess I will have to file for the rebate on my taxes.🙄 Reply

So if I got the email from TT claiming my money will be deposited. The IRS GMP site still stating ‘Payment #2 Status – Not Available’…will I get the money DD or do I just claim it on my taxes? They are actually truly depositing these funds now into whatever account you received your refunds in. I received mine into my account today (it wasn’t in there this morning but it showed up this afternoon. STPG website shows they are attempting to have everyone’s mo eh processed now and they started yesterday. They expect everyone who had accounts on file with the irs to start seeing them as early as today but by Monday the 11th is what their website shows. My it’s status kept saying Payment 2 not available or not enough info even though I know I was qualified to receive it and had not trouble receiving the first one. TPG is the bank that processes TurboTax fees when you do your refund through TurboTax, and the IRS basically just made a HUGE error by sending these payments to them. This happened to some accounts with that first stimulus but the IRS required them to send the misdirected payments back to the irs so they could reissue them, but this time it is nearing tax season and the irs advised they do not have time to reissue those payments so they advised TPG to go ahead and direct deposit them to the accounts that are in file with the irs. TurboTax and TPG are awesome for fixing this issue for everyone that the irs caused. Reply

I paid for our taxes up front and did not use the feature where they take my tax preparation fee out of my refund and it has also happened to me. No check.. no money. I have 5 teenagers at home full time since school is still closed… literally eating me out of our house and our bills have doubled. Help. 🙁 Reply
I’ve been using TurboTax since it’s inception. I’ve never needed a hand from anyone until right now, got covid directly after Christmas and it left me between a rock and a hard place financially. The second stimulus payment would have carried me through this gap in earnings perfectly, as intended. I will never use TurboTax again, and I’ll never suggest their products as I have in the past. I have used TurboTax for 8 years. I got the first check with no issues, but not this time -“Not available” when I check the site. Everyone take notice, the line about “our expectation now is that within days the error will be corrected and stimulus payments will begin being deposited into the correct bank accounts” was also on a post about this from December, word for word. Apparently this must not be the case. Reply

So many people have actually spoken directly to the IRS. They WILL NOT be reissuing a deposit or paper check if Payment 2 shows unavailable. If we can find that out, I know Turbo Tax is aware. This company made that statement to pacify us, give false hope to those that really counting on the direct payment. I got the first stimulus check in April no problem by direct deposit. Why all the sudden is there problems sending to the same account as I had in April. Irs is also saying the tool “Get my payment” it gives you the message that it has no information that means you’re not getting a stimulus check and you have to file a credit on your taxes. In some way Turbo Tax has to be involved in this duechbaggery of the highest level. The IRS made the mistake by sending these payments out to HR block and turbo tax, just remember it’s the IRS who made the mistake not turbo tax. I’ve been filing my taxes with turbo for 10 years now never had issues till IRS decided to mess up!! Reply

What happened was , turbo tax opens accounts for people that don’t pay there fee at the time of the tax filing so they can take there fee out of that account. Well that is the account that the irs sent it too!! I only have one bank account so why was it sent to another one. That is the only explanation. Reply

Since this is an “error” all on parties involved, Turbo Tax should be providing an update daily. I would like to read how they are progressing with the IRS. This is theft. Plain. Simple. As many have stated – how can MILLIONS receive timely deposits with the first stimulus (when the entire process was new, confusing and much more complicated) ……yet, they the EXACT same process the SECOND time around billions of dollars are “misplaced”. I believe this is an IRS issue. Maybe it was a way to gain a few days/weeks interest on a whole lotta dollars. The IRS had the correct info on my 1st stimulus deposit. Why would they disregard the latest information and send it to the closed account? They are not stupid and know how the systems work with tax prep. Not at all pleased with this. Just another lie. How is it that peoples money was sent to the wrong account when a lot of people use direct deposit? This sounds like someone hacked the system! The first payment was fine but now this. The information is the same so why the screw ups! People need their money and this is crazy! Reply

The IRS website is saying anyone who doesn’t have a deposit date or check mailed date will have to file for the stimulus on our taxes. This is unreal and so disheartening. TurboTax is telling us one thing but the IRS website state something different. Who should we believe? I need this money to get by. Reply

I know that we’re all upset, I was upset too because I’m in the situation. Now I’m no spokesperson for Turbo Tax but it’s not their fault this happened to us. It’s the Treasury’s and IRS fault for not carefully taking care of us.. Now what could’ve happened Turbo Tax could’ve just rejected the pmt and it would have been sent back to the IRS and a check could take several weeks to receive. Instead TurboTax is working on it because I’m sure they know their reputation is at stake because of what the IRS did and there is a lot of people who do not understand that it is not TurboTax fault.. The IRS site says my payment is scheduled to be deposited on January 4, 2021. The last 4 digits of my bank account number shown is incorrect. The check is not in my account. What happened? Where’s my money? Reply
Haven’t received my second stimulus. Got the first one no problem. Now it says “Status Not Available” I looked at the reasons it could say this and NONE apply to me. I am extremely disappointed in Turbo Tax. I’ve been a customer for years but not anymore. I’d sure like to know where my stimulus money is. Super disappointing. I was counting on that money. When I called and waited well over an hour (mind you after speaking with the IRS and has blamed Intuit for the mistakes, it’s their accounts that are incorrect) Intuit hung up after I refused to accept that losing my money deserves an explanation and yes angry not loud that changes now! Reply
I haven’t received my stimulus’s I got the first one but the payment portal says” not enough info ( were working on this” or I may not be eligible for the stimulus. I used turbo tax efile . I didn’t work any in 2019 or 2020 so am I still entitled to receive a check. They have my bank account cause it showed the first check and the account it went in and nothing has changed. Reply
I have checked the IRS tool and it doesnt recognize my information. What i entered was on my TT return. I have a repayment plan and my refund went to that. Fees were paid out of pocket. If a have to file my return for my stimulus it is going to go to the IRS. People really need those stimulus payments. You’re saying the IRS is correcting their mistake and will send funds, but they’re saying the only way to get the money is to claim it through our 2020 tax return, which your are not set up for yet (you only have the first one, I checked last night) Please clarify! Reply

I can’t get any information from the IRS site. I am wanting to know if my check went to Turbo Tax or if it’s just floating in the internet. According to the irs when I talked to someone yesterday my stimulus was sent to green dot bank or sbtpg which is the company TurboTax uses and they gave me a number to call them since my stimulus was sent to TurboTax. But of course there’s no way I can talk to someone to find out what’s going on. Reply

Hi Antoinette, If you did not receive the additional payment for a qualifying dependent and you believe you were eligible you can claim the additional stimulus amounts in the form of a Recovery Rebate Credit. I have been a loyal TurboTax customer for almost 10 years now. Based on TurboTax just pointing the finger at the IRS instead of being proactive like HR Block. If TurboTax doesn’t get this fixed and I am forced to wait until I file my tax returns I will never use this software again and will recommend everyone that I help with on their taxes to use a company that try’s to proactively assist their customers. In addition TurboTax just cost me 600$ for our child as she turned 17 this fall. Rather than getting the money for her as a dependent due to her age being 16 when we filed our 2019 taxes we will now lose then since her age will be updated. Thanks TurboTax for causing delays in desperately needed money and costing your clients extra money in which we are entitled to. Reply
Unfortunate that they are saying that we will have to do the rebate if we don’t get our stimulus meaning they will go off 2020 tax information meaning I won’t get the dependent $600 for my now 17 yr old son.. plus the irs will take the rebate money from your refund if you owe back taxes.. crazy.. I have been using your service for the past six years, but will be switching to a different tax preparation company this year. There was no issue receiving the first stimulus payment. Now all of a sudden those who had your preparation fees deducted from their return cannot receive it because of the intermediary bank you use? Somethings seems very off with this issue. I will be informing family, friends, and colleagues to steer very clear of Turbo Tax when choosing a tax preparation service; perhaps a company that cares for its customers such as H&R Block, who is managing to get their clients their stimulus. This is totally irresponsible! If payments were deposited on December 30th TurboTax should’ve been saw this error and began to rectify the problem, not wait until millions of Americans became outraged and upset! This could have been fixed immediately. If you cared about your customers you would’ve placed the direct deposits into our accounts as fast as H&R Block did!
